Dr.-Ing. Stefan Petrausch  Stefan Petrausch


Stefan Petrausch was born in Forchheim, Germany in 1977. In 1996 he started to study elecrical engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He finished the basic studies in 1998 and focussed on signal processing for the advanced studies. As a graduate assistant he simulated a board tester and mentored the exercises of the freshman students. He participated twice at the sponsored workshop "Ferienakademie" in Italy. He finished his student thesis on digital sound synthesis and his diploma thesis on video streaming in the year 2000 and 2002 respictively. In August 2002 he received his Dipl.-Ing. univ. degree and started as a scientific assistant at the chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing in Erlangen one month later in September 2002. He worked within the scope of the European project ALMA (ALgorithms for the Modelling of Acoustic interaction), authored and co-authored over 30 scientific publications, and joint over 20 international conferences. He finished his PhD thesis with the title "Block-Based Physical Modeling", which deals with distributed methods for the numerical simulation of partial differential equations, in Februar 2007. Since July 2007 he now is with "Siemens Audiologische Technik" and develops new signal processing algorithms for hearing aids.
